Cultivating Equity-oriented Educators – What SEAs Can do to Promote Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Practices at the LEA Level – Webinar Series Part II

December 5, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST

  • « Speak Up at School
  • CEE’s Exploring Equity Issues Webinar: Race & Bigotry »

The second webinar in our series will provide strategies on how SEAs can support LEAs at various points in the process of implementing their state ESSA plans. Emphasis will be given on how plans define an effective educator, the attributes of cultural responsive pedagogy at the instructional level, and the importance of accessing student knowledge through instruction in an effort to ensure every student receives a quality education.

This is Part II of our Webinar Series for State Education Agencies on ESSA Plan Implementation

This series is designed for state education agencies on ESSA plan implementation. These interactive presentations will focus on strengthening SEA knowledge and understanding of macro and micro systems needed to cultivate, implement, and sustain culturally responsive pedagogies and school-based practices. Participants will learn what culturally responsive pedagogy entails and a framework to support districts and schools in implementing approaches to teaching that ensure the academic achievement of all students, regardless of their cultural background, skin color, ethnicity, race, language, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
