Evidence-Based Practices for Family Engagement
November 20, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EST
FREEThis session, presented by Collaborative Action for Family Engagement (CAFE) at MAEC and NAFSCE, will provide equity-based practices to improve family-school-community partnerships. Join us to learn how three organizations are doing evidence-based family engagement across the nation.
Participants will be able to:
- Learn how Parent Teacher Home Visit’s (PTHV) evidence-based model of relational home visits can build a strong foundation of trust between families and schools,
- Describe Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT), a model of family engagement grounded in the notion that schools can thrive when families and teachers work together, as genuine partners,
- Understand how the Flamboyan Foundation has put both PTHV and APPT Teams into practice in public and charter schools in Washington, DC.
PRESENTERS
- Gina Martinez-Keddy, Executive Director, Parent Teacher Home Visits
