Equitable Access to Higher Education

While more Americans are achieving higher levels of education, there are still attainment gaps by race and ethnicity. In addition, low-income and under-represented students are more likely to attend under-resourced institutions, such as community colleges and less prestigious four-year colleges where completion rates are low. Schools can help these vulnerable students by providing them with college cultural capital, knowledge of the process and realities of going to college, and assistance with financial aid forms.
